These terms cover this website and the prebuilt Squeal binaries. The source code has its own license, and that one wins wherever the two overlap.
The source code
Squeal's source code is published under the MIT license. You are free to read it, modify it, and build it yourself, under that license's terms.
The prebuilt binaries
The builds we publish for macOS, Windows, and Linux are free for personal use. Using them for commercial work — in a company, or for a client, or as part of a product — requires an additional license. Write to chris@pullpanda.io to arrange one.
You may not resell, rent out, or redistribute the binaries as your own, and you may not remove or hide the notices they carry.
Your databases are yours
You are responsible for the queries you run and for the data you run them against. Squeal will happily execute a DELETE without a WHERE clause if you ask it to. Keep backups, and be careful which connection a worksheet is pointed at.
No warranty
Squeal and this website are provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including the warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost data, lost profits, or any other damages arising from using the app or the site.
Availability
We may change, pause, or stop publishing new builds at any time. If that ever happens, the source code stays where it is, under the MIT license, and you can keep building it.
Changes to these terms
When these terms change, the date at the top of this page changes with them. Continuing to use the app or the site after that means you accept the new version.
